NRA’s National Firearms Museum is bringing a special traveling exhibit, “Guns of the Maharajas” to the February 10, 11, and 12 Nation’s Gun Show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA.
Part of the fabulous Robert E. Petersen Gallery, show-goers will be able to view rare arms once owned by wealthy moguls, maharajahs, and nawabs that include an exotic Alexander Henry “Howdah” pistol chambered in .577. Heavily embellished in gold, this double-barreled pistol was intended to serve as the ultimate protection for hunters riding in the small Howdah hut atop an elephant’s back. If attacked by a tiger, the two powerful shots of the Howdah were deemed more than enough at close range to knock a tiger off the backside of the elephant.
Double rifles from Holland & Holland include an exquisite .465 Nitro once owned by the Nawab of Moin-ud-Dowla. This two-barreled rifle has been fitted with golden cloisonné sideplates that blend different-colored shades of gold into jungle scenes. An equally impressive .375 H & H double rifle from the renowned arms collection of the Maharajah Bupindra Singh of Patiala showcases the finest of gold inlay engraving.

Proactive Shooters is proud to announce that we will be conducting our Basic Firearms Safety class at the Nation’s Gun Show in Chantilly, Virginia. This class will qualify you to apply for a
Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
The hotel is located at 4335 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20151, and it is onsite at the Dulles Expo Center, home of the Nation’s Gun Show. The class will be conducted on Saturday, and Sunday, from 12 noon – 5pm each day. You only need to attend the class on one of the two days.
The cost of the class is $69.00. In order to reserve a seat, you must register and advance payment is required. You may make advance payment via credit/debit card on the Proactive Shooters website, or by mailing a check or money order in to Proactive Shooters, LLC. before the class date. Walk-ins will be welcomed on the day of class and they may pay by cash, check or money order at the door on a first come, first served basis.
Seating is limited, so early registration is recommended. Upon completion of the class, a certificate will be provided that will allow you to apply for your Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
Class location will be at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Chantilly, Va., located directly on site at the Nation’s Gun Show.
